Become a Reviewer with History in the Making

HITM header for articles

History in the Making is not just about publishing history from university students. It is also aimed at giving students an experience of peer review and journal publication from the production side, an experience we hope will prove valuable if you continue on as a history academic. We rely on a number of reviewers and editors to produce the journal.

How to Apply to Become a Reviewer

If you are an honours student or a postgraduate student, download our reviewer interests form, fill it out, and send it to us at editors@historyitm.org, with ‘Reviewer Application’ in the subject line. If you have problems downloading or viewing the form, send us an email and we can send you a copy.

Being a reviewer will involve reading a number of submissions and assessing them according to a given checklist. We will let you choose how many articles you are prepared to read, but it will involve a definite commitment of time twice a year. To see more about the review process, read about it here. If you are an undergraduate student, you will first need to have an article accepted for publication in the journal before you can become a reviewer.
